Careers According to You: Nursing

Imagine waking up every day knowing that your work directly impacts the lives of others, helping them live their best, most fulfilling lives. As an EverTrue nurse, you are not just offering care – you are creating an environment where older adults can thrive and connect, helping them remain as independent as possible.

Chris Rehme, an EverTrue nurse manager, is a perfect example of the heart and dedication needed in this role. She explains, “I assist team members and residents to ensure the best environment and care for residents. I answer questions from residents and their families, providing all the expertise I have with whatever they may need.” Her words echo the core of what it means to be part of a supportive, caring community – one where residents and team members alike are treated with respect and compassion.

“I’ve worked in many different specialties but have always come back to working with older adults – it’s where my heart is.” This sentiment is shared by many nurses who find a unique satisfaction in building meaningful relationships with the people they support.

“The residents and their families become my family,” she says.

A core goal is supporting residents’ independence, Chris notes. “I love that the residents have opportunities to be independent and live life according to them. We develop a deep trust with one another,” she explains. This balance between autonomy and support allows older adults to live life on their terms.

And just like the residents, EverTrue team members are supported in their own growth. Chris says, “I feel like I am supported and encouraged to improve myself and my knowledge base.”  Being an EverTrue nurse offers an opportunity to make a real difference – not just for the residents but for your own personal growth as well.
